This paper is concerned with the analysis of some foreign elements found in the press from Panama. We have noted that English, French and Italian are the languages which have had the greatest influence on the Spanish used in America and especially on the Spanish from Panama as can be deduced from the information herein. First, we have ascertained the reasons that facilitated, and in the case of English still facilitate, that influence, and we have analyzed the different morphological, syntactical and lexical borrowings found.
