The aim of this thesis is to map the sources of stress and the frequency of burnout syndrome in selected high-stress professions, including moderating factors of its origin.The theoretical part is focused on the definition of the term stress, its categories and explanation of its sources in the form of stressors. Furthermore, it focuses on the term burnout syndrome, the causes of its development, stages and manifestations. The last theoretical chapter is devoted to the description of coping strategies and stress management.In the empirical part, the questionnaire survey identifies sources of stress in selected highly stressed professions as moderating factors of the burnout syndrome, which is further explored using the MBI questionnaire.
