Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Kandang Penelitian Kelurahan Pengawu Kecamatan Palu Selatan Kota Palu Propinsi Sulawesi Tengah selama 10 minggu dari tanggal 19 Mei 2005 sampai dengan tanggal 11 Agustus 2005. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui daya cerna bahan kering, protein kasar dan serat kasar pakan pada kambing Kacang jantan dengan lama makan yang berbeda. Ternak yang dipergunakan sebanyak 15 ekor kambing Kacang jantan umur 10 - 12 bulan dengan kisaran bobot badan awal 10,10 – 16,10 kg asal peternak rakyat di sekitar kota Palu.. Ternak tersebut ditempatkan dalam kandang individu berukuran 75 x 75 x 75 cm sebanyak 15 petak, masing-masing dilengkapi tempat makan dan tempat minum.
