Introduction: there are two kinds of emergency contraception (EC): hormonal EC (levonorgestrel or ulipristal acetate) and non-hormonal EC (copper IUD). The use of hormonal EC is common while non-hormonal EC (copper IUD) is very limited even though its efficacy rate is more than 99% and instates a long-term contraception.Objectives: the objectives of this study were to assess women's knowledge of non-hormonal EC and to identify hindrances to its wider use. Population and method: our study was quantitative , observational, descriptive and prospective.
