Old Barn Haystack 1913

The old campus barn and haystack in 1913. The wooden barn appears small and has a vaulted roof, shingled, with a portico. The barn sits in front of an immense haystack. The barn's portico is full of lumber and a litter of plows and other indiscernible objects are scattered out front amidst the weeds. At the very right of the barn is a wooden fence with a swinging gate. On the same side of the barn is a door.This photograph is in poor condition. Three of the four corners are missing and the upper right corner is creased. On the front, written along the bottom edge in black ink is, "The old barn & haystack 1913." Drawn in pencil, along the left hand side, is a double arrow ended line with "2 in." written in the middle. The back is covered with glue stains and written in pencil is, "A Barn, Sugarhouse Press 133[?] for Westminster College." Written in black ink in the bottom right hand corner is, "The Old Barn & Haystack Barn, 1913." After consulting other photographs, it is believed that the barn stood in the field to the west of Converse Hall and was later rebuilt in the mid twenties. However, there is no evidence to confirm this
