Clair and Voneta Hopkins

Clair and Voneta Millet Hopkins came to Vernal in 1935. Clair taught agriculture at Uintah High School for four years. The Farm Service Office began in 1940 in which Clair was in head of. He continued as the officer in charge when it became Uintah County Farm Bureau in 1944. Clair was a own-manager of the Commercial Hotel. He was Vernal City Councilman. He served in the Utah HOuse of Representatives. He was active in local clubs and was a prominent citizen of Vernal. He and his wife moved from the area in 1961. He died January 15, 1986. Voneta died January 23, 2004
