Add to ORKGNelson G. Sowards is pictured in the Uintah High School year book in 1927. He was a teacher at the Junior High at the time. He was one of Vernal's first teachers. He was a teacher for many years and served as superintendent of schools for 17 years. He was a farmer and had the first commercial pearch orchard in Vernal. He was married to Mary Gibson. He died January 14, 1946
