Elisha Bates informs Thomas Rotch that he has made an arrangement with AW Townsend to collect subscriptions for his publications. His family has been ill with measles, dysentery and bilious fever, but he hopes to see Rotch and his wife at Yearly Meeting. Thomas Rotch had a mild case of fever in July or August 1823, but he departed for the Yearly Meeting at Mount Pleasant.
