Acknowledgement of Thomas Rotch's death on Sept 13 or 14, 1823 He had symptoms of fever before he left Kendal for the week long Yearly Meeting at Mt. Pleasant, Ohio, but on arrival, he collapsed and died. With Charity at his side, all measures to revive him, he passed peacefully and was buried in an unmarked grave in the Quaker cemetery at Short Creek, six miles from Mt. Pleasant. The news of Rotch's death was conveyed by a letter written by Deborah Graham on the 15th of September, to New England family. William Rotch, Jr. tells Charity that if she finds herself in need of monies, he will send post haste. William notes that his son, Thomas will plan to visit Kendal in a month or two. 8" x 9.7" (20.4 by 24.6 cm
