Pulmonary hypertension (PH) due to lung dise-ase is classified as a 3rd group in comprehensive clinical classification of pulmonary hypertension according to European Society of Cardiology and Pulmonology. In n any lung disease, the deve-lopment of PH is accompanied by a deterioration of exercise capacity, worsening of hypoxaemia and shorter survival. As a general rule, patients presenting with symptoms that are more severe than expected based on their lung disease should be further evaluated for PH by pulmonologists and cardiologists.
