“Emerging people , remaining Indians” are common expressions about ethnic groups concerned as unknown or extinct at the Northeast of Brazil. This article points some aspects of the reappearin g of the Tremernbé Indians at Ceara State, a phenomenon with full vitality at the 80’s and 90’s, and try to surpass the vision of which happens onto the boundary.
