Las Esporas de Salvación blurb

Movie project: Las Esporas de Salvación Scene:Un Salón de Hinton James The opening scene of our project is an interpretation of the scene in “El Norte” where Arturo is killed by Guatemalan soldiers. We decided to make this our opening scene because this was a very powerful event which spurs the rest of the movie. Enrique was traumatized by what he saw happen to his father (in the original movie and our own), and this leads him to go search for a better life. Arturo as speaking about issues about living in Guatemala, so we adapted that to discussing problems about living on campus. We also included information from the reading “Borderlands” in their discussion. I really enjoyed this project because it allowed us to think critically on the issues plaguing Central America and how we can find common ground with the people struggling
