The Spanish and Italian languages have a wide history and culture in common that at times seems to be easier to translate from one language to another. This similarity that also includes lexicon and certain grammatical forms may at times confuse, especially when it comes to transmitting emotional and / or mental states. The purpose of this paper is to study how is translated the madness in the plays Enrico IV (1922) by Pirandello (1867-1936) in his Spanish translation by Velloso (1952). In the first part of this paper will explain about literature translation in theatrical texts.
