The island of Ikaria is located in the eastern part of the Attic-Cycladic Massif, very close to its eastern continuation, the Menderes Massif. Three tectonic units can be distinguished (Ktenas, Marinos ed. 1969, Papanikolaou 1978) from bottom to top: a) the Ikaria unit, b) the Messaria unit and c) the Kefala unit. Two granitic bodies, a bigger I-type (diameter of c. 15 km) and a smaller S-type (dimension c. 3x1 km) intruded the Ikaria unit, in the western and eastern part of the island, respectively. The aim of this study is to unravel the metamorphic history of these units and the prevailing P-T conditions.
