Does it represent your views? • Three years ago four women from various religions and parts of the province were denied voting privileges at a meeting of the Council solely because they were pro-life. Abortion was not the only issue on which they did not agree. These women decided that there needed to be an organization in the province that was pro-family and pro­life. The Alberta Federation of Women United for Families was formed. In this short time it has grown to over 3000 members. It’s executive has made many presentations to the government especially pertaining to moral and educational concerns. The government has listened but we need more members to be effective. If this organization better represents your views we invite you to inquire about taking out a $5 membership. The A.F.W.U.F. is holding their third Annual Convention at the Labor Club in Lethbridge Novemaber 16 & 17. Friday is an Education Seminar with a banquet in the evening. Guest speaker is Gay Caswell, an M.L.A. from Sask­atchewan. Her topis is Parent Effect­iveness in School and Politics. Satur­day's guest is Gwen Landeau, an Ontario attorney and founder of R.E.A.L. Liter­ally tens of thousands of hard earned dollars have been donated. In these difficult financial times it make^s'me feel proud to live in an area where so many, people are willing to donate so unselfishly. I is a wonderful thing to see such a large number united behind the great community goal of a truly multi-purp­ose center. People in small communities have a great sense of kinship that tends to encompass all in a united effort that enables them to accomplish great thing A great thing will be accomplished when the project is completed. Arthur Spencer who passed away October 29th, 1984, were held in the Magrath Stake Chapel Thursday, November 1st, with Bishop Brook Harker officiating. The family prayer was offered by George A. Spencer. Organist for the service was Alma Davies who accompanied Dan Davies in the sing­ing of the opening hymn "How Great Thou Art". Invocation was offered by Kevin B. Spencer. . The biography was given by ■' Allan Dudley followed by a violin solo by Douglas G. Murray. Nyal Fletcher was speaker for the service The closing hymn was "Come Let Us Anew" sung by L. B. Tanner, Byng Beazer, Eldon Coleman and Cal Alston The benediction was by Scott S. Murray. Postlude music was rendered by Elizabeth Davies. Honorary Pallbearers were Miles Spencer, Dee Cahoon, Lance Meeks, Leo Spencer, Geoffrey Spencer, George Spencer, Vinall Hatch and Reed Svenson Active Pallbearers were Kevin Spencer, Doug Murray, Eric Spencer Scott Murray, Paul Spencer, Bruce Murray and Hugh Spencer.
