The analysis performed in this paper is based on the concepts of a heterogeneous nucleation and related controlling wave process. It is assumed that this wave process initiates a very rapid rearrangement of the atomic planes {110}c of the cubic phase into the basal planes {0001}h of the hexagonal phase. It is shown that the expected spectrum of orientations of habit planes of the {hhl}c type corresponds to the observed orientations. A method of calculation of threshold deformations is proposed which is based on a hypothesis (inherent in fast growth) that the relation of deformations caused by the controlling wave process is retained at deformations exceeding the threshold ones.
