Davis 1619 Boston Ave Muskogee, Okla. 11 Dec 1945 Dear Folks: Today was the opening of the Ingolstadt newspaper, the “Donau Kurier (courier).” There were a lot of speeches (lights have just gone out, but I’ll write in the dark”) and a big ceremony. made a pretty good speech, and I was called on unexpectedly to interpret also the speech of a Col. In charge of Newspaper Selection, Bavaria. He thanked me very warmly and gave me a note of thanks. Very nice, which I’ll send tomorrow. I did pretty good at that. Love Bob. The Col. had just spoken, and I had had to translate the formal speech of several minutes without benefit of previous reading.
