La enseñanza de los conceptos de oxidación y de reducción contextualizados en el estudio de la corrosión

The contextualization of chemistry is of great importance to our society as it allows to bring this science to students of secondary education thus facilitating the learning process, so that students can identify and explain the phenomena that occur around. As a way to improve student learning, driven redox processes are contextualized through the process of corrosion of metals, which can place them in real contexts, for which there were two experiences, one on corrosion reactions that occur over an extended time due to constant contact of the coins one hundred Chilean pesos, the old and current human sweat by verifying which of the two alloys are most affected. The other experience is to determine qualitatively the degree of corrosion experienced by coins of the same value mentioned above, through two media, a dry and moist soil, respectively. Both activities were used with chemical reagents readily available.La contextualización de la química es de gran importancia para nuestra sociedad, pues permite acercar esta ciencia a los estudiantes de la educación secundaria facilitando de esta forma el proceso de aprendizaje, de modo que los alumnos puedan identificar y explicar los fenómenos que ocurren a su alrededor. Como una forma de mejorar el aprendizaje de los estudiantes, la unidad Procesos de óxido-reducción, se contextualizó a través del proceso de corrosión de los metales, que permite situarlos en contextos reales; para lo cual se realizaron dos experiencias, una de ellas sobre las reacciones de corrosión que se desencadenan en un tiempo prolongado debido al permanente contacto de las monedas de cien pesos chilenos, la antigua y la actual con el sudor humano, verificando cuál de las dos aleaciones se ve más afectada. La otra experiencia, consiste en determinar cualitativamente el grado de corrosión que experimentan las monedas del mismo valor mencionado anteriormente, a través de dos medios, un suelo seco y un suelo húmedo.
