Louis J. Callan was born on January 27, 1906. He received his B.S. from Buffalo State Teachers College. Mr. Callan received his M.A. in 1937 and his Ph.D. in 1952 from Ohio State University. He taught Industrial Arts and was vice principal at Webster High School before coming to the State University College at Buffalo in 1946. Under Dr. Callan supervision in 1952 the college constructed a camp in Franklinville for outdoor activities of students. For many years he was co-director of the camp. Louis Callan was Professor of Industrial Arts at the State University College at Buffalo until July 1973. He was designated Professor Emeritus when he retired.
