Sediments of numerous crevices and a cave in Jurassic limestones of the Stránská Skála Hill were studied especially from the viewpoint of translucent heavy mineral assemblages (THMA). The aim of the study was to evaluate the contribution of various sources to the composition of THMA. Relatively strong, aproximately 50 % participation of minerals (staurolite, kyanite, rutile, tourmaline) typical for basal Cenomanian sandstones (or Rudice formation sediments) reflects high share of this source. Further sources come most probably from Miocene sands (garnets), locally some contamination by eolic admixture was noticed (hornblende)
