Abstract: This article brings an interpreting proposal over the notion that ancient Athenians from the classical period had about the characteristics of a child on its first years of life, which is what today we name childhood. For that, under the light of specialized historiography, a dialogue is made between Plato and Aristotle’s printed texts concerning the representations of three small children from attic pottery of V B.C. Our intention is to discuss if the boys were treated like miniature adults for the classical period Athenians or if they received particular cares, which could distinguish this stage from their other human development ones.
