Caracterización del Aluminio 5083 H116 soldado con el Proceso GMAW Pulsado

This research was based on the analysis of theweldability of aluminum joints 5083 H116, with fillerAWS 5.10 ER 5183 by GMAW PULSED process todetermine the conditions of the heat-affected zonein the base material, depending on the heat inputfor the process with different technologies availablein Colombia. The variables considered within thisstudy were: welding positions (horizontal), type ofwelded joints (butt and fillet), and parameters forwelding equipment (voltage, current, speed, powersupply, speed development), and protective gas used(Argon, 100%). Non-destructive and destructivetesting techniques were used to characterize thediscontinuities found and the criteria to acceptthe AWS D1.2 code (STRUCTURAL WELDINGCODE-ALUMINUM by the AMERICAN WELDINGSOCIETY). As a result, the investigation yielded theconditions for the application of filler material (ER5183) on base material (5083 H116), supportedby Welding Procedure Specifications Documents(WPS) and Procedure Qualification Record(PQR) to implement in aluminum welding at theCOTECMAR shipyard.Esta investigación se fundamentó en el análisis dela soldabilidad de las uniones de aluminio 5083H116 con material de aporte ER 5183, segúnclasificación de la AWS 5.10, mediante el procesoGMAW PULSADO, con el objeto de determinarlas condiciones de la zona afectada por el calorZAC en el material base, dependiendo del calorintroducido con diferentes equipos disponiblesen Colombia. Las variables consideradas dentrodel presente estudio fueron: posiciones desoldadura (horizontal), tipo de uniones (topey filete), parámetros de los equipos (voltaje,amperaje, velocidad de alimentación del aporte,velocidad avance), y gas de protección (Argón,Ar, 100%). Se utilizaron técnicas de ensayos nodestructivos y destructivos para la caracterizaciónde las discontinuidades encontradas, así comolos criterios de aceptación del código AWS D1.2(STRUCTURAL WELDING CODE - ALUMINUM)del AWS (AMERICAN WELDING SOCIETY).Como producto de la investigación se obtuvieronlas condiciones para la aplicación del material ER5183, sobre la aleación de aluminio 5083 H116como material base soportados por los documentostécnicos como el WPS (WELDING PROCEDURESPECIFICATIONS) y PQR (Procedure QualificationRecord), que sustentan la soldadura de aluminio sinprecalentamiento, para su implementación en elastillero de COTECMAR
