The research and service contributions of this university have been well documented, and the number of graduates, totaling over 42,000 for the first century is a matter of record. In numbers, this is a significant and measurable contribution to our human resources, buttthe more elusive measure, in terms of people, their aspirations, and their accomplishments reflects a different and higher dimension. The distance which these graduates have traveled from information to insight, from formal training in higher education to a life of human fulfillment, is perhaps the greatest measure of the stature of this University.
