STORIES THAT MIGHT BE LIES is a short collection of stories encapsulating the multi-faceted nature of grief that comes from the death of major family members. The three stories contained in this collection cover three different characters—an agender historian dealing with the loss of their brother, a Saudi taxi driver preparing his daughter for his death from lung cancer, and a student dealing with the suicide of her adopted mother and the fractured family left behind--that interact with each other in small ways, hinting at beginnings, middles, and ends of the stages of grief as they weave in and out of the cognitive space in which they live: a fictional urban landscape known only as The City.
