"A newsletter of the IDRC/MOH Tanzania Essential Health Interventions Project"District health plans ought to be based on rational and efficient decisions. Since 1997 the Tanzania Essential Health Interventions Project (TEHIP), a joint initiative with the Ministry of Health and other collaborators, has been implementing evidence-based planning in the district, working with health plans at district and local levels. TEHIP is about testing innovations in planning, priority setting and resource allocation. This issue focuses on Insecticide Treated Nets (ITN), and implementation of projects that include production of bed nets through private companies in Tanzania
