The article intends to provide an in-depth analysis of the current legal framework with regard the offshore platforms’ sector in the Mediterranean Sea, with a specific focus on the Adriatic region. The study covers, from an Italian perspective, both the procedures related to the construction of the offshore platforms, the performance of the prospection, exploration and exploitation activities and the procedures for the decommissioning of the structures, once the field is exhausted.
