The B.A thesis “Influence of video games on the acquisition of the English language” is a research paper on the influence video games have on the learning process of English. The main question that this thesis aims to answer is “Do video games have a positive influence on the acquisition of the language?”. This topic was chosen to expand the understanding of the potential benefit video games may have on learning the English language. This topic already has some research done on it, but there are still opportunities to expend the understanding of this topic. To analyze this topic a 9-question questionnaire was designed to gather information from a sample size of 96 students from a Kaunas school. Once the data was gathered the analysis of it began. After the analysis was complete several notable conclusions were made. Firstly, video games are a way to expand the players’ vocabulary. Furthermore, video games can help enhance the players’ spoken language skills. Lastly, video games provide for a multitude of opportunities to use language in a real, substantive way both in written and spoken forms. In conclusion, this thesis answers the question “Do video games have a positive impact on learning the English language?” and the answer to that is yes, video games do have a positive impact on the acquisition of the English language
