The Labour Code of the Republic of Lithuania, Art. 227. part 2 provides that disciplinary measures may be applied to the employees who are in breach of labour discipline. Labour discipline is an obligation of an employee to comply with regulatory requirements and carry out the legitimate employer's and administration instructions, given on the basis of a labour contract. Breach of labour discipline means non-performance or improper performance of labour duties through the employee's fault. Disciplinary sanctions are disciplinary sanctions imposed by the employer.
