The author analyzes two syntactic features present in the cultivated speech of Santiago de Chile that can also be extrapolated to other regions. These related phenomena are known as queísmo and dequeísmo and occur when the preposition ‘de’ is deleted/inserted before determined structures, which is considered agrammatical.En este artículo se muestra lo que ocurre en el habla culta de Santiago de Chile –extrapolable a otras regiones– en el uso de dos fenómenos sintácticos antinómicos, pero muy relacionados, que el autor ha denominado queísmo y dequeísmo, esto es, la omisión considerada agramatical de la preposición de ante que en determinadas estructuras y su presencia en otras, igualmente agramatical, respectivament
