Los microcréditos como medio de financiación alternativa. Estudio aplicado a Cabo Verde

The aim of the following paper is to value the impact that microcredits have as an instrument against Poverty in Cabo Verde. In developing countries the microcompanies play an important role in their economies, operating in the informal sector and decreasing the poverty of many families. In this sense, the present paper is centered in analyzing the main characteristics of the microcredit in Cape Verde. From a social point of view, we analyzed the profiles of the women of that country who accede to this source of financing to create or consolidate a small business. From a economic point of view, we studied the main financial characteristics of the institutions of microcredits in Cape Verde.El objetivo del presente estudio es analizar el funcionamiento del sistema de microcréditos en Cabo Verde en su papel de instrumento de lucha contra la pobreza. Abordamos los microcréditos desde un punto de vista social y financiero. Para ello, viajamos y encuestamos a una muestra significativa de las mujeres caboverdianas que utilizan este medio de financiación para crear o consolidar un pequeño negocio. También, obtuvimos información directamente de una muestra significativa de las instituciones de microcréditos caboverdianas. En el estudio planteamos recomendaciones para posibles mejoras en la gestión de las entidades de microfinanzas y para que los microcréditos sean más baratos
