The major Lloro was assigned to Melilla’s Regulares. In July 1936 he joined the military strike against the Spanish Republic. In December 1936 he was sent to the Madrid front. On March 8th 1939, Franco’s troops planned an attack to enter Madrid taking advantage of the fights between the National Defense Council and the Communists that taking place in the city. When Lloro was summonsed to an Officer’s meeting to receive instructions regarding the incoming operation, the colonel dismissed him on the understanding that he had attended to the meeting under the influence of alcohol.
