In 2006, the State of New Jersey held a competition to transform a portion of Trenton's historic, yet underutilized, waterfront into an urban state park. Wallace Roberts & Todd's (WRT) winning proposal for the New Jersey Capital Park re-casts Trenton as a great waterfront city and a heritage destination. The third chapter of the master plan provides more details about some of the aspects of the park's design described in the first chapter, including solutions for improved pedestrian access, specific ideas for planting schemes, the creation of a civic campus, ecological restoration along the Assunpink, among others.Purpose: To provide information about the plans for a new state park in Trenton
