Synthese und Eigenschaften Drahtartigen sp Kohlenstoffketten mit Bis (phosphin)arylplatin Endgruppen

Treatment of Br(CH2)nCH=CH2 with KPPh2 yields the phosphines Ph2P(CH2)nCH=CH2 (n = a, 7; b, 8; c, 9, d, 10; 82-95%), which react with [Pt(- Cl)(C6F5)(tht)]2 to give trans-(C6F5)(Ph2P(CH2)nCH=CH2)2PtCl (3a-d, 70-95%). Reactions of 3a-d and H(C≡C)2H (HNEt2, cat. CuI) give trans-(C6F5)- (Ph2P(CH2)nCH=CH2)2Pt(C≡C)2H (4a-d, 80-95%). Oxidative homocouplings of 4a-d under Hay conditions (O2, cat. CuCl/TMEDA, acetone) give trans,trans- (C6F5)(Ph2P(CH2)nCH=CH2)2Pt(C≡C)4Pt(Ph2P(CH2)nCH=CH2)2(C6F5) (5a-d, 64-77%). If 4b-d are similarly treated with an excess of H(C≡C)2SiEt3 under Hay conditions, trans- (C6F5)(Ph2P(CH2)nCH=CH2)2Pt(C≡C)3SiEt3 (6b-d, 56-73%) are obtained. Acetone solutions of 6b-d are treated with wet n-Bu4N+ F−to generate in situ trans-(C6F5)(Ph2P(CH2)nCH=CH2)2Pt(C≡C)3H. After addition of Me3SiCl (F− scavenger), these are reacted under Hay conditions to give the homocoupling products trans,trans-(C6F5)(Ph2P(CH2)nCH=CH2)2Pt(C≡C)6Pt(Ph2P(CH2)nCH=CH2)2(C6F5) (7bd, 59-64%). Alkene metatheses of 5a-d using Ru(=CHPh)(PCy3)2(Cl)2 (first generation Grubbs’ catalyst) give mixtures of cyclized isomers (97-99%), which are hydrogenated under Pd/C catalysis to give crude product mixtures (73-93%). Column chromatography gives trans,trans-(C6F5)(Ph2P(CH2)2n+2PPh2)Pt(C≡C)4Pt(Ph2P(CH2)2n+2PPh2)(C6F5) (8a-c, 15-48%), trans,trans-(C6F5)(Ph2P(CH2)2n+2PPh2)Pt(C≡C)4Pt(Ph2P(CH2)2n+2PPh2)( C6F5) (9b-c, 10-15%), and mixtures 8b-c/9b-c (intermediate fractions, 14-31%). Analogous metathesis/hydrogenation reactions of 7b-d yield trans,trans- (C6F5)(Ph2P(CH2)2n+2PPh2)Pt(C≡C)6Pt(Ph2P(CH2)2n+2PPh2)(C6F5) (10b-d, 15-23%). However, 10d is only obtained as a 2:1 mixture with trans,trans-(C6F5)(Ph2- P(CH2)22PPh2)Pt(C≡C)6Pt(Ph2P(CH2)22PPh2)(C6F5). Complexes 9a-c are also synthesized via an independent pathway. Metathesis/hydrogenation reactions of 3a-d give trans-(C6F5)(Ph2P(CH2)2n+2PPh2)PtCl (12a-c, 49-59%). Reactions of 12a-c, Me3Sn(C≡C)2SiMe3, KPF6, and CuI (cat.) give trans-(C6F5)(Ph2P(CH2)2n+2Ph2P)Pt(C≡C)2SiMe3 (13a-c, 79-80%). Desilylation of 13a-c with wet n-Bu4N+ F−followed by treatment with Me3SiCl (F−scavenger) and homocoupling under Hay conditions give 9a-c (84-90%). Reaction of Br(CH2)4O(CH2)2CH=CH2 (14) with KPPh2 yields Ph2P(CH2)4O- (CH2)2CH=CH2 (83%), which reacts with [Pt(-Cl)(C6F5)(tht)]2 to give trans- (C6F5)(Ph2P(CH2)4O(CH2)2CH=CH2)PtCl (16, 53%). A HNEt2 solution of 16 is treated with H(C≡C)2H and CuI (cat.) to give trans-(C6F5)(Ph2P(CH2)4O- (CH2)2CH=CH2)Pt(C≡C)2H (17, 97%). Hay homocoupling of 17 gives trans,trans- (C6F5)(Ph2P(CH2)4O(CH2)2CH=CH2)Pt(C≡C)4Pt(Ph2P(CH2)4O(CH2)2CH=CH2)(C6F5) (18, 86%). A metathesis/hydrogenation sequence with 18 gives trans,trans- (C6F5)(Ph2P(CH2)4O(CH2)6O(CH2)4PPh2)Pt(C≡C)4Pt(Ph2P(CH2)4O(CH2)6O(CH2)4PPh2( C6F5) (19, 26%). The effect of the diphosphines on the spectroscopic and electronic properties (NMR, IR and UV-visible spectra) and the reversibility of oxidation (cyclic voltammetry) are carefully analyzed. The shielded bridging diphosphine complexes 8a-c show a large increase of reversibility with respect to 5a-c; those of the trans-spanning diphosphine complexes 9a-c are intermediate between those of 5a-c and 8a-c. No increase of reversibility of 19 with respect to 18 is evident. The trans-spanning diphosphine complexes 12a and 9a contain a series of diastereotopic groups that could exchange by a rotation of the methylene chain about the PPt- P axis. The rotation does not take place on the NMR time scale even at 120 °C. In the homologues 12b-c and 9b-c, which feature larger macrocycles, exchange is rapid at −120 °C. Crystal structures of 8c, 9b, 9c, 13a, 10c, and 19 are compared. The methylene chains in 8c and 19 show double helical conformations with angles between the platinum termini of 293.5° and 164.1°. The first one represents the most twisted double helix of its family; the second represents the first example with heteroatoms in the insulating chain. Note that unlike all other double helical molecules, these lack bonding interactions between the strands. Reaction of trans-(C6F5)(Et3P)2Pt(C≡C)2H (24) and trans-(p-tol)(Et3P)2PtCl (28) (HNEt2, cat. CuCl) gives trans,trans-(C6F5)(Et3P)2Pt(C≡C)2Pt(PEt3)(p-tol) (31, 62%). Complex 24 and trans-(p-tol)(p-tol3P)2PtCl (25) react in the presence of KPF6, t-BuOK, and CuCl (cat.) to give trans,trans-(C6F5)(Et3P)2Pt(C≡C)2Pt(Pp-tol3)(p-tol) (32, 91%). An acetone solution of trans-(C6F5)(p-tol3P)2Pt(C≡C)3SiEt3 is treated with wet n- Bu4N+ F−to generate in situ trans-(C6F5)(p-tol3P)2Pt(C≡C)3H (35), which is coupled with 25 (HNEt2, cat. CuCl) to give trans,trans-(C6F5)(p-tol3P)2Pt(C≡C)3Pt(Pp-tol3)(p-tol) (34, 40%). Reaction of 35 with 25 in the presence of t-BuOK and KPF6 (cat. CuCl, THF/EtOH) gives 34 (63%). Analogous desilylation of trans-(C6F5)(Et3P)2Pt(C≡C)3SiEt3 and reaction with 28 (t-BuOK, KPF6, cat. CuCl, THF/EtOH) gives trans,trans-(C6F5)- (Et3P)2Pt(C≡C)3Pt(PEt3)(p-tol) (37, 59%). Reaction of 24 and (Ph3P)AuCl (2 equiv KN(SiMe3)2, THF) gives trans- (C6F5)(Et3P)2Pt(C≡C)2Au(PPh3) (42, 91%). Spectroscopic thermal, and oxidative properties of 31, 32, 34, 37, and 42 are analyzed. CuCl/TMEDA, Aceton) zugänglich. Die Heterokupplung von 4b-d mit einem Überschuss H(C≡C)2SiEt3 unter Hay-Bedingungen ergibt trans-(C6F5)(Ph2P(CH2)nCH=CH2)2Pt(C≡C)3SiEt3 (6b-d, 56-73%). Eine Lösung von 6b-d in Aceton wird mit n-Bu4N+ F−in feuchtem THF versetzt. Die in situ erhaltenen Komplexe trans-(C6F5)(Ph2P(CH2)2n+2CH=CH2)2Pt(C≡C)2H werden durch Zugabe von Me3SiCl (F−Fänger) und Homokupplung unter Hay- Bedingungen zu trans,trans-(C6F5)(Ph2P(CH2)2n+2CH=CH2)2Pt(C≡C)6Pt(Ph2P- (CH2)2n+2CH=CH2)2(C6F5) (7b-d, 59-64%) umgesetzt. Alken-Metathese von 5a-c mit Ru(=CHPh)(PCy3)2(Cl)2 (Grubbs Katalysator der ersten Generation) führt zu einem Gemisch aus zyklischen Isomeren (97-99%), die unter Pd/C-Katalyse hydriert werden. Die dabei entstehenden Produktmischungen (73-93%) werden säulenchromatographisch in die Komplexe trans,trans-(C6F5)(Ph2P(CH2)2n+2- PPh2)Pt(C≡C)4Pt(Ph2P(CH2)2n+2PPh2)(C6F5) (8a-c, 15-48%), trans,trans-(C6F5)(Ph2P- (CH2)2n+2PPh2)Pt(C≡C)4Pt(Ph2P(CH2)2n+2PPh2)(C6F5) (9b-c, 10-15%) sowie in eine Mischung aus 8b-c/9b-c (Mischfraktion, 14-31%) getrennt. Entsprechende Sequenzen aus Metathese und Hydrierung von 7b-d ergeben trans,trans-(C6F5)(Ph2P(CH2)2n+2PPh2)Pt(C≡C)6Pt(Ph2P(CH2)2n+2PPh2)(C6F5) (10b-d, 15-23%). Der Komplex trans,trans-(C6F5)(Ph2P(CH2)22PPh2)Pt(C≡C)6Pt(Ph2P(CH2)22- PPh2)(C6F5) (10d) kann nur als 2:1 Mischung mit trans,trans- (C6F5)(Ph2P(CH2)22PPh2)Pt(C≡C)6Pt(Ph2P(CH2)22PPh2)(C6F5) (11d) erhalten werden. Die Komplexe 9a-c wurden ebenfalls über einen unabhängiges Weg hergestellt. Alken-Metathese und Hydrierung von 3a-d ergeben die Komplexe trans- (C6F5)(Ph2P(CH2)2n+2Ph2P)PtCl (12a-c, 49-59%). Die Reaktion von 12a-c, Me3Sn(C≡C)2SiMe3, KPF6 und CuI (kat.) führt zu trans- (C6F5)(Ph2P(CH2)2n+2Ph2P)Pt(C≡C)2SiMe3 (13a-c, 79-80%). Desilylierung von 13a-c mit feuchtem n-Bu4N+ F−gefolgt von Behandung mit Me3SiCl (F−Fänger) und Homokupplung unter Hay-Bedingungen ergeben 9a-c (84-90%). Die Reaktion von Br(CH2)4O(CH2)2CH=CH2 (14) mit KPPh2 ergibt das Phosphan Ph2P(CH2)4O(CH2)2CH=CH2 (83%). Dieses wird mit [Pt(-Cl)(C6F5)(tht)]2 umgesetzt, um trans-(C6F5)(Ph2P(CH2)4O(CH2)2CH=CH2)PtCl (16, 53%) zu erhalten. Eine Hagihara Kupplung von 16 mit H(C≡C)2H ergibt trans-(C6F5)(Ph2P(CH2)4O- (CH2)2CH=CH2)Pt(C≡C)2H (97%). Die Homokupplung unter Hay-Bedingungen führt zu trans,trans-(C6F5)(Ph2P(CH2)4O(CH2)2CH=CH2)Pt(C≡C)4Pt(Ph2P(CH2)4O(CH2)2- CH=CH2)(C6F5) (18, 86%). Alken-Metathese und Hydrierung führen zu trans,trans- (C6F5)(Ph2P(CH2)4O(CH2)6O(CH2)4PPh2)Pt(C≡C)4Pt(Ph2P(CH2)4O(CH2)6O(CH2)4- PPh2(C6F5) (19, 26%). Der Einfluss der Diphosphane auf die spektroskopischen und elektronischen Eigenschaften (NMR, IR, UV/Vis Spektren) sowie die Reversibilität der Oxidation (zyklische Voltammetrie) wurden sorgfältig untersucht. Die geschützten verbrückten Diphosphan-Komplexe 8a-c zeigen eine höhere Reversibilität als 5a-c; die Reversibilität der Oxidationen von 9a-c liegen zwischen denen von 5a-c und 8a-c. Der Komplex 19 zeigt keine erhöhte Reversibilität im Vergleich zu 18. Die trans-überbrückten Diphosphane Komplexe 12a und 9a enthalten diastereotope Gruppen, welche bei einer Rotation der CH2 Kette um die P-Pt-Pt Achse interkonvertieren würden. Diese Rotation findet (NMR Zeitskala), nicht einmal bei 120 °C statt. Bei den entsprechenden Komplexen 12b-c und 9b-c, die größere Makrozyklen enthalten, ist der Austausch bereits bei −120 °C schnell. Die Kristallstrukturen von 8c, 9b, 9c, 10c, 13a und 19 werden beschrieben und verglichen. Die Methylengruppen in 8c und 19 weisen eine doppelhelikale Konformation auf. Die Ebenen der Platintermini (P-Pt-P/Pt) bilden Winkel von 293.5 und 164.1°. Der erste stellt die höchste Drehung für eine Doppelhelix ihrer Klasse dar und der zweite repräsentiert das erste Beispiel mit Heteroatomen in der sp3 Brücke. Es ist anzumerken, dass im Gegensatz zu anderen doppelhelikalen Verbindungen die beschriebenen Verbindungen keine Bindungswechselwirkungen innerhalb der doppelhelikalen Stränge aufweisen. Die Reaktion von trans-(C6F5)(Et3P)2Pt(C≡C)2H (24) mit trans-(p-tol)(Et3P)2PtCl (28) (HNEt2, kat. CuCl,) ergibt trans,trans-(C6F5)(Et3P)2Pt(C≡C)2Pt(PEt3)(p-tol) (31, 62%). Komplex 24 und trans-(p-tol)(p-tol3P)2PtCl (25) werden in Anwesenheit von KPF6 und t-BuOK (kat. CuCl) zu trans,trans-(C6F5)(Et3P)2Pt(C≡C)2Pt(Pp-tol3)(p-tol) (32, 91%) umgesetzt. Eine Lösung von trans-(C6F5)(p-tol3P)2Pt(C≡C)3SiEt3 in Aceton wird mit feuchtem n-Bu4N+ F−versetzt. Der in situ erhaltene Komplex trans-(C6F5)(ptol3P) 2Pt(C≡C)3H (35) wird mit 25 (HNEt2, kat. CuCl) zu trans,trans-(C6F5)(ptol3P) 2Pt(C≡C)3Pt(Pp-tol3)(p-tol) (34, 40%) umgesetzt. Die Reaktion von 35 mit 25 in Anwesenheit von t-BuOK and KPF6 (kat. CuCl, THF/EtOH) ergibt 34 (63%). Analoge Desilylierung von trans-(C6F5)(Et3P)2Pt(C≡C)3SiEt3 und Reaktion mit 28 (t-BuOK, KPF6, CuCl, THF/EtOH) führen zu trans,trans-(C6F5)(Et3P)2Pt(C≡C)3Pt(PEt3)(p-tol) (37, 59%). Die Reaktion von 24 und (Ph3P)AuCl (2 äquiv KN(SiMe3)2, THF) ergibt trans- (C6F5)(Et3P)2Pt(C≡C)2Au(PPh3) (42, 91%).
