Motif Penggunaan Instant Messaging (Motif Penggunaan Instant Messaging LINE dan Whatsapp Mahasiswa Ilmu Komunikasi Non Reguler FISIP UNS 2015)

With the title, "Motive Use Instant Messaging (Motive Use Instant Messaging LINE and Whatsapp Student Science Communication Non Regular FISIP UNS 2015)". The background that the one who directs a person in doing something is a motive. In this digital era, instant messaging LINE and Whatsapp becomes a necessity as a communication medium. Methods of data collection using Focus Group Discussion (FGD) with six college students. The results of the observations made by the author is the motive of college students using LINE and Whatsapp that is information motive, personal identity motive, social integration motive, social interaction motive, social influence motive, entertainment motive and service compatibility motive. Conclusion and suggestion that motive have been found above in both instant messaging application that LINE and Whatsapp come up with different kind, way and level. The differences exist because both have features and usage that are tailored to the needs of its users. For further research it is suggested to be able to measure how much percentage of those motive are used by most people
