THE EFFECT OF USING INSTANT MESSAGING WHATSAPP ON ORGANIZATIONAL COMMUNICATION EFFECTIVENESS (Study on WhatsApp chat group among PKK mothers Rt.09 Rw.02 Pendem )

Starting from the phenomenon of using communication media and internet by the people of Indonesia which is very closely related to the use of social media such as messenger or chat app. One of the most popular community today is WhatsApp app, because WhatsApp is private chat app. The community, especially among mothers who take shelter in PKK organization located in RT.09 RW.02 Pendem village utilizes communication technology such as the application WhatsApp chat group to exchange news, exchange ideas, and also discuss about various information. The type of this research is correlation in the form of questionnaire survey. Sampling technique used is non-probability sampling. The sample used in this study amounted to 35 respondents. For the measurement of data from the questionnaire is done through the validity and reliability test and to determine the effect of using instant messaging WhatsApp to the effectiveness of information dissemination by using simple regression test. The theory used in this research is the theory of media effect dependencies which is proposed by Sandra Ball-Rokeach and Melvin L DeFleur. From the results of hypothesis testing, it simultaneously obtains the correlation value of using instant messaging WhatsApp (X) of 0.820 and the correlation value of information dissemination effectiveness (Y) of 0.799. It means that there is significant influence between the variable of WhatsApp instant messaging use to variable of dissemination effectiveness of information. Thus, Ho rejected and Ha accepted, in other words there is influence of using instant messaging WhatsApp to the effectiveness of information dissemination
