A Retrospective and Prospects of the Fifth Generation Computer Project

Report on the Fifth Generation Computer Systems (FGCS) project undertaken by the Japanese Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI) in the period 1982-1992. The Fifth Generation Computer was developed using a framework of parallel processing and inference processing based on logic programming.
