AbstractBackgroundElectronic-learning describes the use of information technology or the internet for learning activities. Integrating e-learning into medical education is supported by adult learning theory; learners control content, sequence, pace, time and media, fitting different learning styles. Courses are standardized in terms of content and delivery and can include assessment and feedback.ImplicationsTechnology is a tool for deeper learning, and learning experiences beyond lecture-based learning.
