In this paper, we consider the functional load of strong positions of text in artistic discourse and describe the techniques for their pragmatic adaptation in translation. The title, epigraph, beginning and end of the text are referred to as strong positions, being of great importance for the organization, perception and interpretation of the text. The strong positions structure the information that the text contains, attract the reader’s attention, prepare them for the perception of information, as well as the way the author’s intention is expressed, help to draw conclusions from the content of the read text upon reading.
