Earlier versions of the work were presented in 'Golden' and 'Golden (Lessons)' two solo exhibitions at Chinese Arts Centre, Manchester and Beaconsfield Contemporary Art, London, in 2006. Golden (2005-present) is an ongoing project comprising a series of works across video, installation, sound, performance, text, and improvised participatory live events. The project seeks to explore nostalgia, aspiration, and possibilities for a critical aesthetics and poetics of place in diaspora.
