This work deals with both current didactic discourse resulting from the epistemological relativism that Social Sciences undergo and a progressive abandonment of the normative basis of didactics. This produces a methodological deadlock in the research as well as teaching field. The construction of didactic knowledge derived from the educational research field as a way of studying teaching is analyzed. Approaches such as hermeneutics and ideological criticism as well as "practical knowledge" and "researcher teacher" status are specially mentioned. From these approaches, the nature and legitimacy of didactic knowledge and its relation to pedagogic practices based on comprehensiveness / normativeness tension are discussed.
