Film titles can have several informative and aesthetic functions in a film. Despite the interest and acknowledgement they awaken among scholars and spectators, the communicative possibilities of film credits are still quite an unknown subject. This paper suggests a sociological, historical, linguistic and aesthetic overview of different aspects related to film credits, in order to provide some elements with which to analyze and understand them
