ANALISIS KETERPADUAN PASAR KOMODITAS CABAI MERAH DI KABUPATEN BREBES

The aim of this research is to know the red chilli market integrity in short-term between mains market and retail market in Brebes Regency. The basic method used in this research is analytical descriptive method. The location is determined purposively, that is Brebes Regency. Determination of sampel research is intentionally or by purposive sampling method, Sengon is as the mains market than Brebes, Ketanggungan and Bumiayu as retail market. Data type used in this research is secondary data, that is red chilli price note during 48 months; since January 2003 until December 2006. The result of this research indicate that from regresion analysis, the level of IMC index between Sengon market and Brebes market and also between Sengon market and Ketanggungan market are 0,09 and 0,23. It mean that the level of red chilli market integrity in short-term between Sengon market, Brebes and Ketanggungan in Brebes Regency is in high level, its means that price change that happened in Sengon market is directly and immediately transmited to Brebes and Ketanggungan market. The level of IMC index from regresion analysis between Sengon market and Bumiayu market is 1,47. It means that the level of red chilli market integrity between Sengon market and Bumiayu market is low in shortterm, it means that the price change that happened in Sengon market is indirectly and unimmediately transmited to Bumiayu market. The height level of market integrity between Sengon market and Brebes market and also Sengon market and Ketanggungan market in short-term is influenced by the distance among both market that near enough and the fluency of its transportation facilities. In other sides, the low level of red chilli market integrity between Sengon market and Bumiayu market is caused by less fluent of market information especially about the price change. Its caused by travelled distance which far enough and less fluent of trasnportation. From this research result can be suggested first, to make an integrated market, the adjustment of prices is needed. Retailer market should exploit the price information which have been made available either through electronic media or by related institution (for example: Agriculture Department). Second suggestion, the government require to add and improve the transportation medium to the mains market of Sengon because mains market is the center of chilli price information in Brebes Regenc
