Identifikasi komoditas pertanian unggulan tingkat kecamatan di kabupaten Batang provinsi Jawa Tengah

The government’s policy of autonomy for area supposes every area to have capability in developing their own area. It will benefit for getting more focus on managing their policy. One of the potentions of Batang Regency is agricultural sector. That’s why the identification of agricultural commodity is needed to determine the superior commodity. The purposes of this research are to identify the commodities of agriculture which change into superior commodities of agriculture; the specialization; the localization of superior commodity of agriculture in Batang Regency; and to identify the commodity of agriculture to which be developed in Batang Regency. The basic method of this research is descriptive method by taking a sample area purposively. In addition, the data analysis uses methods such as: Location Quotient (LQ), Specialization Quotient (SQ), Localization Quotient (Lo), and the mix of highest LQ and SQ. The datas used in this research are from the production and the average cost of agricultural commodities in year of 2006. The result of this research shows that the superior commodities of agriculture which have been produced and developed in large areas of Batang Regency are rice plants, cassavas, yams, sweet potatoes, long beans, big chilies, red onions, bananas, mango, rose-apple, jackfruits, durians, robusta coffee, arabica coffee, coconuts, cloves, and gingers. While the kinds of animals are: buffaloes, ducks, geese, rabbits, cows, goats, fishes, and eels. Many kinds of woods such as mahogany, jati woods, and sengon woods are also produced over there. The commodities of agriculture which have superior comparison relatively higher is rice plant with Specialization Quotient (SQ) 1.01370. Meanwhile, the highest result of Localization Quotient (Lo) is 2.29697 for mangosteens commodities. All of twelve subdistric in Batang Regency centralize their activities on a certain agricultural activity. From 102 superior commodities of agriculture, the commodities which centralize their activities is 63 commodities, while the other 39 commodities decentralize their activities. Based on the analysis, the superior commodities of agriculture which become priority to be developed are onions and tomatoes in Subdistric of Bawang, carrot in Subdistric of Blado, tembang/ jui fish in Subdistric of Batang, soybean in Subdistric of Warungasem, and jerbung lobster in Subdistric of Tulis. The superior commodities in each subsdistric, they are onions and tomatoes in Susdictric of Bawang, red onions in Sudsdictric of Gringsing, tembang/jui fish in Subsdtric of Batang, tea in Subsdistric of Reban, soybean in Subsdistric of Warungasem, orange in Subsdictric of Tersono, jerbung lobster in Subsdistric of Tulis, zalaccas in Subsdistric of Wonotunggal, cashew fruits in Subsdistric of Subah, saffrons in Subsdistric of Limpung and Arabica coffe in Subsdistric of Bandar
