This dissertation aims at studying the two French translations of Carson McCullers’s 1946 novel The Member of the Wedding, and additionally offers a more recent and personal vision of this novel with the translation of an excerpt from the novel. The present translation study was completed with a stylistic approach of the novel and of the official translations, thus taking into account the narrative devices, the grammar and the literary style of the novel.
