Latin tardif littéraire et latin tardif parlé

There was a growing gap between the spoken and the written forms of Latin during the last centuries of Roman Antiquity. A comparison of different kinds of texts as well as a close look at some peculiar features in the literary language gives us an idea of the difference between the written and the spoken forms of Late Latin. Some of the new features are only met with in the less elegant texts, whereas others are found in all sorts of later texts.
