<p>Leaves of four-week-old plants were inoculated with <i>Xcc</i> (OD<sub>600</sub> = 0.002). The <i>in planta</i> bacterial titers were determined immediately (day 0) or on day 5 post-inoculation (cfu, colony-forming units). Data represent the mean of eight independent samples with standard deviation. <i>Xcc</i> grew significantly more in <i>eds5</i>, <i>pad4</i>, <i>nho1</i>, <i>eds5npr1</i>, and <i>sid2npr1</i> than in the wild-type Col-0 plants (*<i>P</i><0.01, 0.001, 0.001, 0.001, and 0.05, respectively). Similarly, <i>Xcc</i> grew significantly more in <i>eds1</i> than in the wild-type L<i>er</i> plants (*<i>P</i><0.01). The experiment was repeated three times with similar results.</p
