<p>Wild type (Col) and <i>pad4-1</i> mutant plants of the <i>Arabidopsis thaliana</i> accession Col-0 were inoculated with the <i>Pseudomonas syringae</i> pv. <i>tomato</i> DC3000 (<i>Pto</i>) strain carrying a vector with the effector gene AvrRpt2 (Avr) or the <i>Pto</i> strain carrying the empty vector (EV).The bacterial inoculation dose was 0.0002 OD<sub>600</sub>. The bacterial colony forming units (CFU) were quantified 3 days after inoculation. Four-week old plants were grown at 22°C with a RH of 75% and a 12 hour light/12 hour dark cycle.
