SUMO-2 partially rescues the effect of 4EGI-1 on cap-dependent luciferase translation and the interaction between eIF4E and eIF4G.

<p>HCT116 cells were co-transfected with LUC (A) or pYIC (B) with Vc, wild-type SUMO-2 or SUMO-2ΔGG. The cells were treated with 4EGI-1 (50 µM) for 24 h immediately after transient transfection. (A) The cells were harvested for the luciferase assay. (B) The cell lysates were detected for EYFP expression. HCT116 cells were transfected with Vc, wild-type SUMO-2 or SUMO-2ΔGG. Twenty-four hours post-transfection, the cells were treated with 4EGI-1 (50 µM) for another 24 h. (C) The pull-down assays were conducted.
