Cellular distribution of truncated variants of DcuS fused to YFP.

<p>Upper images indicate the schematic representation of truncated DcuS-YFP variants (DcuS in red; YFP in yellow; membrane in grey; the PAS_C and the kinase domain of DcuS are labelled) which were analyzed by fluorescence microscopy as displayed in the respective lower images; (A) full-length DcuS-YFP (strain IMW262/pMW407); (B) DcuS-(ΔPAS_C)-YFP (strain IMW262/pMW1302); (C) DcuS-PAS_c-YFP (strain IMW262/pMW1060) (D) DcuS-TM2-YFP (strain IMW262/pMW1061). About 100 cells each were inspected with polar localization of DcuS in approx. 90% of the cells for (A), intermediate localization for 60% in (B), and homogeneous distribution for 80% of the cells in (D).
