Amygdala voxel correlations with ACC whose values <i>decrease</i> as symptoms of post-combat emotional distress increase.

<p>For each correlation between one amygdala and one ACC voxel in the same hemisphere (amy_m::acc_n), we regressed its value across all subjects with CAPS score. The majority of these regression values were negative. That is, as CAPS scores increased, the correlation between voxels in the amygdala and ACC decreased. Shown are the median of significant <i>z</i>-scores for voxels in the amygdala only. Threshold for significance was a <i>z</i>-score < -5.39.
